Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin made by the bacteria clostridum botulinum. It is purified for clinical and cosmetic use, often known as 'Botox'. We use the term Anti-Wrinkle injections.

This treatment requires a series of small injections directly into the facial muscles to cause temporary muscle paralysis. By doing this, we prevent muscle contraction, reducing wrinkles/creases in the skin and creating the desired cosmetic effect.

It can also reduce the appearance of static lines over time.

Botox is a prescription only medicine and has to be prescribed by a registered professional and therefore a consultation is required before treatment can take place.

This is a legal requirement and maintains safe practice.

This treatment works best as a preventative and ideally should be started before deep creases set within the skin. We want to prevent the wrinkles and lines forming for ultimate results.

Results with this treatment are not instant and gradually improve, you should start to notice results taking effect from  3-5 days with peak effect starting at day 10. Please note that results take a full 14 days to finalise.

In general, results usually last 3-4 months but there will be clients where it lasts much longer. Each individual will experience different longevity due to our anatomy and muscle activity.

Treatment can be repeated after 12 weeks regardless of movement and certainly works better as a preventative.
